Singer Songwriter Fernando Curcione grew up on Riverdale Avenue in Toronto Ontario. Hence the name – The Riverdale Kid. In 1979, he and song writing partner Jim McMillan entered the first Q107 giving his song writing ability legitimacy as they placed 6th out of 417 entries. After going there separate ways, Fernando resumed writing songs in the late 90s and recorded his CD of original songs – Toasted Western / The Adventures of THE RIVERDALE KID. The CD was accepted by Mark Rheume at CBC Radio and then distributed to 33 affiliates across Canada.
